And we're off!
Crazy but true. Quincy & I are off to the States. For a month. Today!
After a few tiny breaks in a long string of bad weather, it's a perfect still, dry day to fly.
Please, oh please, let there be a spare seat next to me. And please let us make our connection in LA this time.

$106.85
That's how much I would have paid to fill up my 50+ litre sedan had I not saved about $10 with a 20-cents-per-litre discount grocery voucher. Premium petrol is currently $2.09 per litre. And that, ladies and gentlemen, works out to $7.93 per gallon. True that's $7.93 New Zealand dollars which is only $5.72US per gallon! But we don't earn US dollars, so it really is $7.93 per gallon for us. Ouch.
Luckily we only use one car and don't drive much. We probably have to fill up every two and a half to three weeks. If I didn't have to drive to take the dogs for a walk, it would be even less. I so long for a proper footpath around the bays. It's unfortunately too dangerous with a pram and two dogs. But that's another story.
Moving on, apart from half the egg, Quincy ate all this for lunch today. Plus an entire punnet of yogurt! I guess it's safe to say he's getting his appetite back!
By the way, it's still raining. And I am struggling to get the washing dry. I might just have to break down and use the dryer.
