cause for optimism
Eddye has been fairly stable for the last week-and-a-half. They haven't found any evidence of the fungal infection, which had been one of the major causes for concern a week or so ago. Also many of his bacterial infections have already or are clearing.
He still remains in a coma and very sick, however they hope to wean him from the ventilator in the coming days. A move to an acute care facility seems to be around the corner.
Finally, a bit of good news.

hi Tina! I had a great time trick or treating last night! it was so great to have a family get together after all of these things going on. Lucia is getting cuter every time I see her. She was dressed up as a strawberry. I dressed up as a pajama girl and I got a lot of candy, i hope it will last a long time. I love your blog, and i have fun reading it! Christina, I am sooo glad that there has been some optimistic news for you and your family....You all deserve the best news...I haven't forgoten your reeces peanut butter cups I will get these off to you in the next few days...
Hi Christina
That sounds like positive news. I'm sure he will get through it. I sort of know how you are feeling as a distant family member is in a coma in belgium and it's hard not knowing.
Keep up the positive thoughts.
Hi Tina! Rosemarie sent me your blog link and I check often for updates. It's wonderful to see new pictures posted, and to read the comments from various family members. Dan and I are sending our love and good thoughts from Texas. Best wishes from your cousin, Helena Christina (I've always loved that we had opposite names!)
Hi! Tina, I really like your blog link. Rosemary gave me the info when I spoke with her. The pictures are wonderful. We are all praying for you and the family. And Congrats on the new additon. Love, Your Illinois cuz, Heidi
HI Tina
First, Joe and I have been praying for a full recovery for Eddye. I received an email from Rosemary today and I am in awe of Lisa and her strength. Eddye is so blessed to have such a loving family and a devoted group of friends praying for him.
Second, I want to tell you that I love your blog! You are so creative and inspiring. I read every word and comment. I love your dogs, being a dog lover myself.
I was especially touched by your tribute to your mom on her birthday. I would be the happiest mom alive if any of my kids wrote such a loving reflection about me. You have such a close and loving family and that comes from your mother and father's love and acceptance of each of you.
I am looking forward to reading more of your blog in the future.
